We are beyond excited to announce our second Better
Everyday Women’s Retreat which will be hosted by JS Strength &
Conditioning and held October 4th-October 7th in Chico, CA! The
weekend will provide an intimate setting in which mind, body, and spirit will
be nurtured and nourished. Dr. Brooke and Sarah Fragoso will be covering several topics including fatigue, hormones, mindset strategies to reduce stress and reclaim your joy, as well as nutrition, fitness and everything else in between.
Strength training, mobility, and corrective exercises are all embedded into this 4 week training program designed to build foundational core strength, hip movement and functional stability. This class is for all levels and is a great option for folks looking to get stronger and improve movement capacity.
This class is appropriate for kids ages 5-12. This class will focus on getting kids moving their bodies in a fun and positive atmosphere. Class meets 2 days per week for duration of 6 weeks.
Whether you're a novice or advanced runner, this course will help to improve your running mechanics through a variety of drills that will teach you how to run efficiently and limit your risk for injury. Once you've completed this course you will have all the tools necessary to help yourself continue to run safely and optimize performance. This course will also encompass proper warm up routines and recovery methods, both of which are just as important as running itself. Class meets once per week for a duration of 6 weeks.
This course will be taught by JS Strength & Conditioning owner and Sports Chiropractor Dr. John Fragoso DC. This course is designed to assess shoulder mechanics and educate folks on proper movement patterns. We will cover topics such as neutral spine, breathing and corrective exercises, all of which is to help you move more efficiently, improve overall ranges of motion and reduce your risk for injury! Throughout the 2 hour course you will learn how to help yourself, as well as, gain insight into why you might be experiencing shoulder pain, limited shoulder ranges of motion, as well as, neck and upper back pain.
This course will be taught by JS Strength & Conditioning owner and Sports Chiropractor Dr. John Fragoso DC. This course is designed to assess hip mechanics and educate folks on proper movement patterns. We will cover topics such as neutral spine, mobility vs stability, breathing and corrective exercises, all of which is to help you move more efficiently and reduce your risk for injury! Throughout the 2 hour course you will learn how to help yourself, as well as, gain insight into why you might be experiencing hip pain, low back, or general lack of hip movement.
Teen Strong is a 4 week course designed to create a solid foundation of core strength, coordination and proper movement mechanics. Class meets twice per week and is for teens of all levels of fitness. Each training session lasts 60 minutes.
This program will focus on speed & strength development over the course of 12 weeks. Testing will be done during the program to evaluate speed, agility, explosiveness, and power through a variety of standardized tests in order to measure the participating athletes progress. These tests will include the vertical jump, broad jump, shuttle run, 40y dash, and strength numbers via the big lifts. The group will meet 4 times per week and each session will last 1 hour long. The class will be limited to the first 10 high school athletes who sign up. This course has a minimum age requirement of 14 years old.
Coach Valerie Wong will be hosting a women's self defense seminar at JS Strength & Conditioning on December 7th from 10am-12pm. Val is a professional MMA fighter and is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu. She currently fights for Invicta Fighting Championships, the only all women fighting promotion in the U.S.
The workshop will focus on teaching women how to defend themselves against potential attackers and will apply skills specifically for women and young ladies.
This is an 8 week course designed for women over 40. This course will meet 3 times per week, 1 hour per session. We will focus on improving strength, balance and athleticism, as well as, cover in-depth nutrition and lifestyle information.
This program is for high school athletes and will focus on speed & strength development over the course of 12 weeks. This course will focus on technique and general strength training while you learn classic lifts such as the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. This group will meet 2 days per week and include 1 extra day of programming to practice on your own. Following the 6 week course this will turn into weekly classes for those who wish to continue training. The course will be taught and programmed by USAW certified coach Joey Sierra.
Introducing Fitness and Fun! This program is designed for kids ages 9 to 13 and will be focusing on exercise along with the fundamental principles of weightlifting all while ensuring that the kids have an absolute blast! Our dedicated coaches will guide your kiddo's through a summer filled with engaging group activities, weight training, loads of summer fun and games. Classes will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 2-3pm. Let us help your child discover the joy of weightlifting while fostering a healthy and active lifestyle. Join us for Fitness and Fun this summer! Family members of current gym owners receive $50 off our program.
The Kickstart Program is for individuals of all fitness levels who are interested in learning the fundamental techniques necessary to improve strength, mobility, conditioning and overall wellbeing. This class will meet 2-3 times per week for a total of 8 sessions. Cost for Kickstart is $149.
Our group classes are for members only. Group classes are semi-private training classes focused on progressing clients in area's of strength, performance and mobility. Our group classes are unique in that there is a limited number of clients in each class, which enables coaches to maintain a high level of client attention and quality control.
Lisa’s classes are a playful mix of dynamic vinyasa flow integrating alignment, core work, breathing techniques, as well as basic entry level poses. With each class it is Lisa’s intention to “serve-guide-inspire”…To serve participants by being fully present and engaged, to guide students in experiencing the full potential of each posture, and inspire them to express their greatness.
This class is open to all JS members at no additional charge. The core focus of mobility
class is to improve normal ranges of motion, movement patterns and correct
dysfunction. The class includes both
assessments and corrective exercises.
The InBody570 tests your body composition to provide a comprehensive analysis that will shed light on your overall health. The InBody570 allows us to understand, with precision, the composition of our member’s bodies, enabling our team of trainers to design a fitness program that incorporates diet, exercise, and lifestyle choices that result in health improvements.
Open gym allows JS members some flexibility in training, a time to work on rehab, correctives, or lifts of their choice. Some structured workouts are on the schedule, however, with trainer approval as a member you can decide what you would like to work on during open gym.
Our Teen Strong Class is designed for kids age 11-15. This class is focused on introducing the fundamentals of strength training and metabolic work. Parents must enroll their teen in a membership in order to attend this class. Please contact us for more information or to sign up.

presenters and coaches will be covering several topics including fatigue, hormones,
finding your joy, as well as nutrition, fitness and everything else in between.
Our goal for this retreat is to allow every attendee to leave feeling as if
their specific needs as it pertains to health and wellness have been met and
that all questions have been answered.
